Kellogg's Raisin Bran® Original cereal

I have been eating Raisin Bran every day for breakfast for several years. Something has happened very, very recently. Either the recipe has changed or the supplier of one of the prime ingredients or something. It tastes awful. I bought two boxes with a Jan 03 2023 expiry; they were terrible. I contacted customer service and they were good enough to send me coupons. I bought a box with Dec 29 2022 expiry; it was great! Then I bought another box dated Jan 02 2023; awful again! Please go back to the old recipe or supplier. You had a good thing going. Why change it?

Kellogg’s Raisin Bran Original cereal tastes very good and is perfect for breakfast or a snack. The only drawback is the ingredients it contains sugar and brown sugar syrup. The added sugar is not needed to sweeten this cereal up that much especially since 1 cup has 9g of sugar. I know myself that I have more than 1 cup of cereal so that’s more than 9g of sugar. If there’s brown sugar syrup then there should be no need for sugar to be added as well. We’re in a day and age where foods contain so many added sugars and ingredients but more people are looking for healthier options. This cereal has minimal ingredients but adds unnecessary sugars.

2/3 into a jumbo box of Raisin Bran, I put a spoonful in my mouth only to bite down onto something that was neither a bran flake or a raisin. There is no mention anywhere on the box that it could contain nuts or be in contact with nuts, so what exactly is this mystery item? It was quite hard. I initially thought perhaps I had chipped the bowl I was using, but that was not the case. I did in fact break the piece in two. Picture attached

I like it is high in fiber, vitamins and proteins also it is whole grain and so delicious!! The raisins of course add some taste, but also flakes are very delicious too also crunchy and fresh. I will definitely buy it again. Thank you influester for letting me test !!

I think Raisin Bran is just a classic cereal and there is a reason why it has been popular for so long. It isn't super sweet like many of the other cereals out there, it just has a light sweetness to it. I made mine with whole milk and the milk becomes really yummy after the cereal has been sitting in there for a bit and imparts some of that sweetness into it. The flakes have a really nice crunch to them too, and even when it gets a little soggy with the milk it still has a bit of crunch left which is very pleasant overall. Those little bits of raisins provide a nice textural contrast to the flakes as well. Considering the amount of fiber you get in there, which is always good since not enough of us get enough fiber every day, I think this is a great option for breakfast and I'd highly recommend it.

I’ve been a fan of Kellogg’s Raisin Bran for a long time because of the high fiber, source of iron and the other vitamins and minerals. One cup with 3/4 cup of skim milk is 250 calories so it’s good for a quick breakfast. I do like to prepare mine with a few slices of banana and a sprinkle of brown sugar. I’m giving three stars for the bioengineered ingredient label and how fast the flakes get soggy.
